Here it is! The 12th edition of the Liquidity Network newsletter. We cover technical, marketing, and community progress from the past few weeks. The last weeks of Q1 were hectic, as the team was working energetically to release mobile apps, preparing for the Asia meetups and EDCON Sydney event, and announcing the major partnership with Thundercore. Recently, we open-sourced the NOCUST smart contracts 🎉🎉🎉.
Technical Updates
Following the new mainnet hub with critical updates to the smart contract—including stricter security verifications, improved gas efficiency, and optimizations—we released the new nocust-client library 2.0 for developers’ use at https://docs.liquidity.network/.
The V2 mobile app is live with the following cool features:
- Sleek design and cool interface 🎨
- Support ERC-20 tokens on-chain & off-chain 🚀
- Support for $DAI 🌈
- Improved user experience 🌝
- Hub security checks 🛡️
The V2 mobile app is ready on both the Android and IOS app store.
After many hard-working months by our brilliant developers, our smart contracts are now open-sourced at https://github.com/liquidity-network/nocust-contracts-solidit. This is a significant milestone for the team and our community 🎉.
We appreciate the constructive feedback on our mobile apps from our community members, and we encourage you to continue to try the apps. We are actively rewarding your testing efforts 🎁. If you detect any bugs on our smart contract, feel free to report these to our Telegram Developer group. Marketing, events & conferences
On 26 March, we held our first Asia meetup in Bangkok, Thailand at Spaces, Chamchuri Square. It was a fun event, where we had the chance to introduce Liquidity Network to local projects and communities. People are so excited to see the endless possibilities of building dApps on top of the Liquidity platform and how easy it is. A cool, short video from this event can be found here.
Our next stop in Asia was in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 28 March. Liquidity Network joined the discussion with a local project on the exciting topic of “Blockchain Scalability – Challenges and Future Directions”. It was a cozy meetup at a beautiful coffee shop in the city center, and we were amazed by many questions from the local community for Layer 2 solutions and Liquidity Network. Continuing our activities with Asia Blockchain Review, our media partner in Asia, we held an AMA on the 4th of April, where Guillaume, our COO, addressed many questions from community members. We want to thank our community for its continuous support. A recap of this AMA can be found here.
Following Achievement Network, our belief in & contribution to education continues with the 1st International Summer School on Security & Privacy for Blockchains and Distributed Ledger Technologies, hosted by TU Wien in Vienna – Austria from 2 September to 6 September 2019, where we have the honor of being a platinum sponsor. We hope this summer school will nurture future talents to solve blockchain’s challenges as we move towards mass adoption.
March also marked our first partnership announcement with Thundercore, a high TPS, sub-second confirmation time, low gas costs, and EVM-compatible blockchain. As part of the announced partnership, ThunderCore plans to use Liquidity Network as its preferred Layer 2 solution, and Liquidity Network will launch its NOCUST Hub on the ThunderCore blockchain. This implementation is expected to boost the throughput of ThunderCore blockchain to the next level and enable its service to support billions of users.
The highlight event for the crypto space in April was EDCON Sydney, where our COO, Guillaume Felley, presented NOCUST– A securely scalable commit-chain to audiences.
