USDC integrated on the Liquidity Network’s ecosystem as the first fiat-backed stable-coin

Liquidity Network has integrated the USD Coin (USDC) stable-coin, introduced by the CENTRE Consortium , a joint venture co-founded by Circle and Coinbase.

With the Liquidity mobile wallet, you can send USDC without any blockchain fees. No gas. Nada. Environment-friendly! Simply convert USDC to fUSDC (free and fast off-chain USDC), and send fUSDC on the Liquidity commit-chain near-instantly.

USDC is a fiat backed stable-coin, which means that 1 USDC is backed by 1 USD at the bank account of the issuer. Similar to other stable-coins, the actual fiat value of 1 USDC can fluctuate slightly as it’s determined by the market, but in general, it tends to hold its value at around 1 USD. CENTRE maintains USDC’s transparency by publishing monthly audit reports, which is to prove that every USDC is fully backed with the USD reserves, and users can, at any time, redeem USDC to fiat.

Joining into USDC’s ecosystem shows our effort in bringing crypto to the masses by offering a simple and innovative way to transfer and swap crypto assets. Besides, having a fully-audited fiat-backed token in our mobile wallet will help to attract more shops and vendors to accept Liquidity’s payment system.
